
James (Jim) Anderson
Jim Anderson has a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in resource oriented disciplines and has 40+ years of experience in the public and not for profit sectors. He has extensive experience in watershed management, from a project/program implementation perspective to the development of provincial program and policy. (He was one of a number of individuals who was responsible for the re-development of Ontario’s flood plain policy.) He has extensive experience in provincial/community grants and program management and policy development, and has many year of involvement in resource management program delivery at the provincial/regional level. In recent years he has been involved with the collective organization of Ontario’s Conservation Authorities and more recently as government relations advisor with Ducks Unlimited Canada and in this latter capacity with provincial tasks groups dealing with source water protection, nutrient management, biodiversity and natural resource stewardship.His areas of interest are:
- Watershed management, from program implementation to policy/program development and organizational design
- Strategic design of community/provincial level resource programs, in particular grant programs
- Source water management and protection
- Great Lakes water management issues and planning
- Collective action of community level organizations
- Strategic alliances between the agriculture and conservation/environmental sectors
- The refinement of Ecological Goods and Services/Natural Capital concepts
